Over 1,400 runners/walkers participated in 2007 in the annual Thanksgiving Day 5 Mile Run, benefiting the Community Chest of Port Washington.

Directions to the Port Washington Thanksgiving Day Run at Manorhaven Beach, Port Washington:

From Long Island Expressway, Exit 36. Go North approximately 4 miles to Main Street, Port Washington. Turn left. Take Main Street to Shore Road. Turn right. Take Shore Road to Manorhaven Blvd. Turn left. Park is approximately 1/4 mile on left.

The Annual Community Chest Kayak Run was held on August 2, 2008. Over 65 registrants enjoyed traversing the 5 mile course. Raffle prizes were awarded at the end, including a Kayak donated by Atlantic Outfitters.

Budget and Admission Committee each year reviews submissions from our funded organizations for next years campaign and determine the final amounts to be allocated to each funded organization.
